PAPER 53

For a couple of years I was thinking about Wacom Cintiq to go completely digital with my sketches.
Don't take me wrong it is great to draw on paper but when you make thousands of sketches per project it takes quiet some time to digitise all of them and archive on a hard drive.
I tried Cintiq and it is almost like drawing on paper, even the screen has a small matte texture. But it cost a bit more then just pen and pencil, though.
I found a solution an app called - PAPER by company 53. And it is great. I am going to share some recent sketches and maybe tutorials.

ARCHIVE

For the last 5 years I changed three cities. And I will say each city has something special about it, architecture, people, nature, energy...
Unfortunately or maybe not, I have moved to Saint-Petersburg again. It is the first sketch I did by arrival to my apartment. I have been watching this building every day for almost three years when I first came to Saint-Petersburg. It has about 20 floors without windows and nice golden cube on top.
This concrete structure is RUSSIAN STATE ARCHIVE of THE NEVY.

DEAN PARISH CHURCH

It was a very quick sketch while waiting my friend. EDINBURGH DEAN PARISH CHURCH. Not far away from a place I lived at. Tools - watercolour and Faber-Castell Pitt artist pen.

THE FIRST SKETCH

It was the first sketch I have done outside almost 6 months ago.  I haven't done any of these in 5 years after my graduation. Will do my best to make more sketches from now on to develop my drawings skills further.
So this one is EDINBURGH ROYAL BOTANIC GARDENS drawn with pentel brush pen.
